JUNE’S FIELD NOTES · CHAPTER 1

Grandma June left a weathered coop and one red hen. Her rule was simple: care for the ground, and the ground will care for the flock.

Restore June’s backyard

Make 75 manual pecks and collect 5 earthworms.

Welcome to the backyard. Tap the ground to peck!

How your farm grows

Peck anywhere in the field. Some patches are bare. Every manual peck earns XP; finds also earn seeds. Scratch technique and a mobile coop reduce empty pecks. Levels open new upgrades, coops and fields. Your chicken begins tiny and grows through 250 levels. Worn gear and your active coop gain mastery XP with every manual peck; selected feed gains XP on successful finds. Repeat discoveries level up each collected item in the journal. Mastery bonuses apply to manual foraging. You can also spend seeds to train gear, coops and feed. A streak lasts while you keep pecking within 1.8 seconds. Buy auto hens, improve your beak, and explore fields in order. Rain brings more worms and nighttime reveals moon moths. Winter rain becomes snow. Day and night change every 90 seconds. Forecasts change every 90 seconds and use seasonal patterns: spring showers, summer sun, autumn winds and winter snow. Auto seasons follow seasonal field climates or change every 6 minutes in other fields. You can choose a season above the pasture. Snow settles and melts; rain leaves wet soil and puddle ripples. Harvest rush adds 30% to manual rewards for 30 seconds every 3 minutes. Visiting breeds cross the field occasionally; birds of prey appear every 3–6 minutes after their first visit. The hawk circles overhead until you tap it to shoo it away. The next hawk arrives 3–6 minutes after you clear the sky. They do not take your seeds. Each field has a chapter objective; rewards can be claimed once per farm legacy.

Keep up to 3 auto hens. Each successful auto peck earns 1 seed, with the entire flock capped at 0.6 pecks per second. Offline earnings use a 10% resting rate (upgradable to 40%), stop after 2 hours, and never exceed 300 seeds per return. Manual pecking is the main way to progress.
