How to play double-nine draw dominoes

1. Pull up a chair

Create a table for 2–5 players. You take one seat; AI fills the rest. Share the private link or QR before starting to replace AI with friends. Everyone must mark ready.

2. Open the road

There are 55 unique tiles, from 0–0 to 9–9. Each player receives seven; the rest form the boneyard. The highest double in the dealt hands opens each round. With no doubles, the highest total opens; a tie uses the higher end.

3. Match an end

Turns move through the seats in order. Select a tile whose number matches either open end, then press Play left or Play right. Tiles turn automatically. Doubles stand across the chain; they do not create new branches. Blank means zero.

4. Draw or pass

If you cannot match, draw one tile at a time until you can. You must play a legal tile when you have one. If the boneyard is empty and you cannot match, pass. Drawing keeps the same turn and deadline.

5. Win the round

Empty your hand to win. If every player passes consecutively, the lowest total of remaining pips wins the blocked round. Equal lowest totals mean a tied round with no points. The winner scores the sum of everyone else’s remaining pips.

6. Keep the lantern burning

The first player to reach the chosen 100, 150 or 200 points wins the match. The host deals each next round. Turns last 90 seconds; after a timeout the lodge draws as needed and makes a legal move for that seat. AI uses only its own hand and the visible chain.

This is the Lantern Lodge draw variant: no partners, no spinner branches and no “all fives” end scoring. Your hand is concealed from other players until each round ends. Guest seats belong to this browser; reopening the same invitation here resumes your seat.
